smart Festival goes with a swing
The excitement promised by
the smart festival 2009 certainly didn’t disappoint the thousands of smart owners and enthusiasts that gathered together for the event. Over 4,000 owners, celebrities, smart lovers and enthusiasts turned out to enjoy the day.
On Saturday 12th September, Mercedes-Benz World was packed with 1,330 carefully maintained smart cars all ready to have a good time. Organised by
thesmartclub, in association with smart UK, the smart festival was a perfect blend of entertainment, competitions and the very latest in smart technology.
The crowds loved the exhibits from
BRABUS, the tailor-made customisation service, while
Pioneer showed its high-tech navigation system that turns your smart into a multi-media hub. Another main attraction was ‘smartville’, a dedicated arena to purchase accessories and liveries/vinyls from smart official accessories and trader - in addition engine upgrades were also on offer.
As for entertainment, the high-energy performance from Britain’s Got Talent semi-finalists, street dance troupe
Flava captured everyone’s attention and even got members of the crowd dancing along in a special workshop session. And to make sure the party went with a swing, singer-songwriter and smart ambassador
Steve Appleton performed a number of tracks including ‘Innercity Lover’. Even Mercedes-Benz World’s crash test dummy Ted was dancing along!
Following the success of this year’s event, planning is already underway for a bigger, better smart festival next year – and guess what, everyone’s invited! Have a look at everyone’s photos and videos on
